Gameweek 18 Picks

The teams with the best upcoming attacking fixtures:
Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Liverpool, West Ham

And the best defensive fixtures:
West Brom, Man Utd, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Everton

The teams with the toughest fixtures over the festive season:
Bournemouth, Chelsea, Newcastle, Man City, Swansea

Looking at that list, the Arsenal attacking players are looking really hot right now. They can always do damage, but especially with the current set of fixtures which include Bournemouth and Newcastle. Both have conceded a lot this year, although Bournemouth are in good form right now. The Arsenal men to look at will be Ozil, Ramsey, Walcott, Giroud, and maybe even Joel Campbell.

Crystal Palace also have some decent attacking options. Cabaye, Bolasie, Puncheon and Zaha are their star men. Perhaps also Glenn Murray.

West Ham haven't scored in three games, although you might want to get Payet into your squad if he's unowned in your league. He should be back at the beginning of January.

Aston Villa have been pretty awful this year, but with easier fixtures on the horizon, is this the time for Jordan Ayew and Scott Sinclair to shine? Agbonlahor is also back and good be a good pick.

Liverpool have a wealth of attacking options that haven't done too well so far this year. Men that stand out are Coutinho, Henderson, Benteke, Firminho, and Lallana. If Daniel Sturridge ever gets his fitness back he could be the best player in the game.

Looking at defences, WBA, Manchester United, and West Ham are very solid options right now. We recommended them last week. Neither of them got a clean sheet, but we'll continue to recommend them this week. United are a risk and Van Gaal could easily be gone soon, but they're still a pretty good option, especially with their upcoming schedule against goal-shy teams. Crystal Palace don't have a bad defence either.

Everton could also start to get some clean sheets now despite not being very strong defensively so far this year. Leighton Baines is an excellent under the radar option. Always an attacking threat with set pieces under his belt. Even if Everton can't find a way to tighten up their defence, he's a terrific option.
